The Absinthe + Sugar Water Ember Massage Candle by Jimmyjane is a limited-edition scent. Like all of Jimmyjane’s massage candles it is a soy and shea butter based candle free of paraffin, lead, and the normal nasty chemicals I like to mention. It rests inside of a beautiful porcelain container that has a pour spout in one corner for ease of use. The Jimmyjane logo is etched in the lid which is made to be turned over and used as a stand for the candle to rest on while burning. It says it will burn for up to 72 hours, but I’ve burned it for quite a few already and have hardly made a dent in the amount of wax.
It comes in JimmyJane’s traditional white box with a silver logo and black and red accents. It is well padded inside and also includes a little instruction booklet. I was confused to find that the ingredients for the Absinthe + Sugar Water scent specifically were not listed in the instruction booklet, assuming because it is a limited edition item. I contacted JimmyJane directly in order to get the ingredients list below.
One big negative to the candle, and the only one I’ve really found, is that if you’re in a hot area or it’s a hot day the massage wax has a tendency to melt on it’s own. This is pretty normal, however, for massage oil candles, since they have a lower melting point than most candles. This does mean that the “wax” can be used as a balm, moisturizer, or even a solid perfume oil if you love the scent so much, and I do.
I was worried that the Absinthe + Sugar Water scent would be too strong of a licorice (or fennel, really) scent, since that is the most predominant taste of absinthe, but the combination of fennel, fig, lemon, and wormwood combines to be a subtle yet spicy fragrance. I’m not big on licorice and while there is a hint of licorice-like scent it is not overpowering or distracting for me. I actually really love the way this candle smells.
The wax is smooth and silky, it doesn’t feel greasy or tacky or weird like some massage oils have the tendency to do, but rather sinks into your skin and makes it that much more soft and deliciously scented. It’s a perfect massage oil when melted completely and the pour spout makes it super simple to apply. While the normal full price of this limited edition candle is a little steep Kama Sutra Closet currently has it on sale at a price which I think is exceptionally reasonable.
Thank you Kama Sutra Closet for letting me review Ember Massage Candle – Absinthe + Sugar Water!

Review: Lust Cosmetics Massage Oil

Lust Cosmetics was one of the sponsors of my Birthday Blowout Giveaway and was nice enough to send me a few birthday presents as well! My favorite of the products she sent is the Lust for Love Extra Virgin Natural Oil which is a blend of six oils with a lovely scent making a great massage oil.
All three of us have back pain quite often, sometimes daily, so we give each other a lot of back rubs and between us we all have used a lot of massage oils. Personally, this one has been my favorite that I can remember. It has a soft floral scent that is not overpowering and just adds a bit of romance to the massage.
It’s in a pump-bottle so it is super easy to squirt out onto a back and distribute evenly as the squirts can be far apart (Marla says it feels like someone shooting a load on her back when I do it quickly). You can use a little for specific areas or a lot for the entire back and have it go exactly where you want it with the pump-bottle. We’ve used at least half of our 1.01 oz bottle already.
The oil itself is smooth and silky and doesn’t leave your back or hands feeling greasy or gross like some other massage oils. It makes massage easy to do with minimal effort so it is easier on the massager and feels grand for the massagee. The oil soaks partially into the skin after massaging like any good massage oil will do, leaving the skin healthy-looking and smooth.
The only negative to the oil is that it has parabens in it, which are chemicals I’m trying to avoid. Whether or not parabens are bad is highly debated and I’m extremely sad because if it weren’t for the parabens it would be my favorite massage oil. Period. For those not concerned about ingredients I would recommend Lust Cosmetics Massage Oil. For those of you who avoid parabens you can always try Intimate Organics Massage Oil.

Lube Review: Yes Pure Intimacy

I was first introduced to Yes! lube via a contest on Viviane’s Sex Carnival, in which I technically won a bottle of the water-based kind. Due to the fact I was moving at the time the bottle ended up going to my address in Salt Lake City and I told my ex-roommate Pixie that if it came there she could have it, since once I showed it to her she was ecstatic about getting some and had been thinking about buying some.
She was excited about it because of the company’s values, their mission and their ingredients, specifically the ingredients they do not include. If you think I’m an ingredient/safety nazi you should meet her. She’s quite the hippy, eats organic and basically vegan (which Yes lube is also–organic and vegan), she reads labels and makes sure nothing she owns has parabens, phthalates, DEA, basically any nasty chemical that may do harm of any sort she avoids it.
Her excitement about this lube upon reading the ingredients and going through their website should tell you enough about the product. My excitement about this lube for those same reasons but also because it is my favorite lube to date should also tell you a lot about the product.
I’ve been in search of the perfect lube recently, these two being the seventh and eighth lubes I’ve reviewed in just as many weeks, and specifically the perfect paraben- and glycerin-free lube and these are without a doubt superior to all other products I’ve tried thus far (although there are some that come in a somewhat close second).
The first thing I noticed about the water-based Yes! lube is the consistency. It’s far from the regular lube consistency, rather it reminds me of my own natural lubrication. It’s not completely smooth or watery but has more of a natural feel to it, which is something Yes intended to do.
Because it doesn’t have any harsh chemicals there’s virtually no chance of experiencing irritation, which is wonderful and the reason why I have been choosing glycerin- and paraben-free lubes in general. I have found that the more chemicals a lube has the more likely I will experience some sort of uncomfortable sensation, which is not what I want my lube to do!
The oil-based lube is absolutely wonderful for anal play, which is what I love oil-based lubes for, and has replaced our go-to anal lube because of that. The main thing to keep in mind if using oil-based lube, though, is that it erodes latex so if you want to use a condom with it you need to make sure you are using a non-latex condom otherwise it will not be safe. It can also be used as massage oil, and since it’s completely natural you don’t have to be afraid of it being rubbed into your skin or naughty bits.

Type: Water-based Lubricant
Compatibility: Works with all toy types. Latex safe. Body safe.
Ingredients: Organic Aloe Vera, a renowned skin food; organic Flax extract which is particularly beneficial for the mucous membranes and three synergistic plant based gums – Guar, Locust Bean and Xanthan, all of which contribute to the deep velvety texture. Food quality preservatives are included and citric acid to buffer the pH. More ingredient information.
Smell: Basically like Aloe Vera, which makes sense since that is the first ingredient. It’s not very strong, either, but is very distinct. The smell lingers after the lube as well.
Taste: Again, basically like Aloe Vera, so very plant-like, natural smelling, not very strong but definitely there.
Sticky? Not a bit!
Type: Oil-based Lubricant
Compatibility: Works with all toy types. Not latex safe. Body safe.
Ingredients: Two rich organic butters – Cocoa butter and Shea butter – more skin food, which impart smoothness and body; two fine emollient oils – sweet almond oil and sunflower oil, both organic, which confer a silky texture and skin moisturising benefits; a little white organic bees wax, and lastly some Vitamin E which as well as benefiting the skin, acts as a preservative. More ingredient information.
Rating: 5 Lotuses (out of 5) – Exceptional & Recommended to Everyone Without Question

A big huge thank you to Yes! Pure Intimacy for introducing me to their wonderful lubes!

Review: Intimate Organics Massage Oil

Who doesn’t love massages? Giving or receiving can be equally enjoyable, and massage oil just makes the whole process easier and, well, smoother.
This Cocoa Bean & Goji Berry Aromatherapy Massage Oil is made by Intimate Organics, the same makers of the Hydra Lubricant I reviewed last week. Like their lubricant, their massage oil is also paraben free, DEA free, pure vegan, and organic!
I wasn’t sure how much I would like the scent of it. Cocoa Bean & Goji Berry, while sounding odd and intriguing, also sounded possibly also unpleasant. Unfortunately too many times when lotions or other body products go for a chocolatey smell it comes out horrible. Luckily it smells absolutely divine and delicious!
The scent is definitely chocolatey, but not overly so, with a faint hint of berry, almost like rich dark raspberry chocolate, but not quite a raspberry scent (which makes sense, considering it’s not raspberry but goji berry). The scent isn’t overpowering or unnatural smelling either, just a pleasant enhancement to an already pleasant massage.
Aside from the scent, the oil itself is a nice consistency. It’s not so thick that it doesn’t spread easily nor so oily that it runs all over and thins out. It’s easy to warm up with a quick rub of the hands together before kneading it into the sore muscles of a thankful friend or lover.
Intimate Organics also has other wonderful pampering products in this same scent and others for the body as well as more intimate areas like their Foot Foreplay Lotion, Warming Fondue Body Scrub, and Intense Clitoral Gel that are all natural, paraben free, and organic. Definitely worth checking out.
Thank you very much to Tabu Toys sex toys for allowing me to review the Intimate Organics Massage Oil!
