Vibrator Review: LELO Mona

The way I feel about LELO toys is admittedly a little fanatical. I aspire to own them all. I did, in fact, have all of them briefly before they released their newest items. I think LELO products are gorgeous works of sexual art that function as well as they look. I haven’t met a LELO toy I haven’t loved and Mona is no exception.

Like all LELO toys Mona is rechargeable and completely body-friendly. The insertable half of Mona is made out of silicone and the handle is made out of ABS plastic. Both are phthalate-free, non-porous, and pleasant to the eye and hand. Mona also comes in a fancy black box with an extensive user manual booklet, a one-year warranty, and LELO’s 10-year quality guarantee. If anything goes wrong with Mona within ten years after purchasing LELO will recycle Mona and give you 50% off your next purchase. My inner hippie likes this.

Mona and the very similar Ina were the first with LELO’s slightly different control panel and packaging. The older toys have a circular control strip slightly reminiscent of an iPod, though not a touch-pad, but still pretty cool. The new control buttons are four separate round buttons in the same place and order as the old ones. The plus and minus buttons control the intensity of the vibrations and the up and down arrows control the pattern of vibrations just like on the older style.

There’s one thing that makes me actually prefer the older style buttons: the locking feature. LELO is wonderful in including the ability to lock all of their toys so the battery doesn’t drain while being stored. In the previous versions you could simply press in the center of the circular control strip until the light around the strip comes on and it would be locked. In this version you have to press each of the four buttons down together. Also, on the older versions you could immediately turn the toy off if it is on no matter what mode or vibration pattern you were in by pressing the same as if you were locking it. With the new controls you can do this the same way as locking as well, but it’s just simply not as easy. Using one finger versus four fingers to do something like that might not seem like a lot, but in the blissful post-orgasm state there is definitely a difference.

I’m generally not as big on internal vibration as I am on clitoral vibrations, but Mona excells at both. The curve and fat head hit the g-spot nicely and the wide end is easy to position right against the clit. I would still say that of all the LELO toys I own Gigi is definitely my favorite multi-tasker, but Mona doesn’t come too far behind. Mona also boasts being stronger than the previous versions, and in a side-by-side comparison I actually could notice a difference. If you need a little extra power to get off then the newer products may work better for you than the old.

I really love the shape of Mona, it’s kind of right in between Liv and Elise length-wise and a mixture of the two width-wise since it has a skinny mid-section about the same size as Liv that tapers into a bulbous end about the same size as Elise. Of course, combining two toys I already loved to make a new toy means I’m going to love this one as well. Mona, however, is easier to wield than Elise, being thinner, and, due to it’s larger surface area gives better contact than Liv.

I just can’t not love LELO toys. They each have their own plusses and minuses and due to their individual features I do believe that there is one for just about everyone. They are definitely luxury toys in every sense of the word and well worth their price.

Much thanks to Adult Sensations sex toys for sending me LELO Mona!

Vibrator Review: Fun Factory G-Twist

Good Vibrations G-Twist Vibrator

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Fun Factory toys, I have quite a lot of them and they’re all made with high standards of quality and care as well as body safe materials, all factors of a quality company. Not only is this a Fun Factory toy, but the G-Twist was made specifically by Fun Factory for Good Vibrations, an amazing sex-positive feminist and all-around-awesome sex toy shop, designed by the GV staff to be the ultimate insertable g-spot vibrator.

I’m personally not much of a fan of internal vibrations, I prefer my insertables to not vibrate and strong vibrations on my clit, so I was a little unsure of how well the G-Twist would work for me. The benefit, though, of having a vibrator that is made for g-spot and internal stimulation is that you can just use it without the vibe essentially as a dildo. My girlfriend Marla, however, thought it was wonderful in both vibrating and non-vibrating modes.

The G-Twist is a gorgeous specimen of g-spot toy and vibrator, long and relatively thick with wonderful ridges all over it. The ridges add to the girth of it a bit, making it suitable even for a size queen such as myself, and the curve of it finds the g-spot easily and presses in just the right places. The vibrations are fairly strong, although nowhere near hitachi strong but few things are, and can be felt easily from base to tip. I couldn’t get off clitorally using this toy alone, but used internally paired with a strong clitoral vibrator it was heavenly.

The majority of the toy is extremely bendable, the last four or five inches or so, which is surprising for a toy with such vibrations. At the base where the silicone meets the handle, battery case, and dial-controls there is a ridge of silicone which can actually be bent up during use to hit the clit. I did this for Marla while we were trying the G-Twist out, and she said it was extremely pleasant.

gtwist

The G-Twist also comes in six different colors (above), all of which are beautiful.

I’ve heard other reviewers have had issues with the battery case, but I didn’t find it to be true. It was a little tricky, as you have to push in either side of the bottom at just the right spot to get the batter compartment to pop out, but once I did it the first time it was easy to do so from then on.

The dial control was interesting to use, as it can be turned either clockwise or counter-clockwise and continuously in 360+ degrees, although only a 180 degree amount of it will turn the toy on. The vibrations vary from barely there to nice and strong depending on where the dial is turned to. I haven’t had any issues with accidentally turning the dial while using it, which is a big plus in my book.

A big huge thank you to Good Vibrations for providing me with the Fun Factory G-Twist!

Fun Factory Week – Vibrator Review: Angelo

Fun Factory Week concludes with a cute mini-vibe!

Did you see the rest of Fun Factory Week with the Boss (Lady), Cuffies Freestyle, Smartballs, and Bloomy reviews?

angelo

Angelo is a slightly different kind of vibe than the Boss Lady as he is part of Fun Factory’s miniVibes collection. He’s, well, smaller obviously, and as he takes two AAA batteries rather than four he is less intense as well.

The shape is pleasing to the eye and I love the rippley designs on the shaft and head. While this vibrator was very good and did it’s job to get me off there was just no “wow” factor to it for me. That may be because I’m a bit of a toy snob by now, and while there was nothing wrong with Angelo per se I just wasn’t all that impressed with him.

The idea behind the miniVibes is that they are small enough to carry around with you and fit in a purse or backpack easier than larger, bulkier vibes. This is definitely true, it’s small and compact, rather adorable. It’s also meant to be versatile, with the curve at the end of Angelo being made for both clitoral and g-spot stimulation.

I especially enjoyed Angelo for clitoral stimulation, not with the tip of the curve but with the outer curve itself. I fit the flat back of the curving tip against my clit and was able to use a good amount of pressure, which was very nice and not something all vibrators can do. If you like a lot of pressure Angelo is great for that reason alone.

However, g-spot stimulation was kind of a bust. Angelo just wasn’t really long enough or the right shape or size to get my g-spot where I needed it. Few toys can get me off on g-spot stimulation alone but Angelo not only couldn’t do that but had a difficult time finding my g-spot even with the assist of my knowledgeable hands. Luckily I’m not all to into internal vibration anyway, preferring to keep my vibrators external and my dildos internal, but that could definitely be difficult for some. However, others also may not find it as difficult to find the g-spot with Angelo as I did, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.

Overall Angelo is a decent vibe and great as far as portability. A lot of smaller vibes would either be more expensive or not as well made, which is definitely a plus.

Much thanks to Babeland for sending me Angelo to review!

Fun Factory Week – Vibrator Review: Boss (Lady)

Welcome to Fun Factory Week!

I have five Fun Factory toys to review this week, and I’m starting off with one of my favorites, a Babeland exclusive, Boss, or possibly Boss Lady.

bossmine1

There’s a little confusion over this vibe going around which I definitely share. I actually went to the Babeland store here in Seattle and was able to hold an original Boss in my hand (image on the left below) which is different than the one I received.

When this was offered it was offered with the image and description of the Boss, the item on the left, but what arrived was the Boss Lady, the item pictured below on the right, although not the hot pink version (which I was thankful for) although that seems to be the only color currently available.

Having tried the old-style Boss in the Babeland store I was actually thankful that I got the newer version, as I liked the upgrades better. The newer Boss Lady has two push-buttons to change vibration intensity and vibration patterns, a plus and a minus, while the old-style Boss had a round dial to turn it on and off and I’m unsure if it had vibration patterns though I don’t think it did.

The older-style Boss I tried out in the store did not work very well, while it turned on it was difficult to turn back off because the dial went around and around and I had to find the right spot to turn it off. However, this could also have to do with the fact that it was a demo version that had been out for customers to turn on and off over and over probably for quite some time. The new style Boss’ buttons are somewhat hard to press, especially the first few times I used it, which was highly annoying. They seem to get easier each time I press them, though, which is good, but they are still somewhat stiff.

bossold   bosslady

In addition to the stiff plus and minus buttons the Boss it also has a “turbo” or “booster” button beneath them (see image on the left below) which is supposed to up the vibration of the toy just when you need it most to help you get over the edge. I was not impressed at all with the turbo button as it’s extremely difficult to push in the first place, much more difficult than the plus and minus buttons were, and continues to be difficult. It also doesn’t really add that much from what I can tell, so I doubt I’ll actually use it.

There have been quite a few other reviews of Boss which talk about issues with the toy working for a variety of reasons, but I had no issues with mine aside from the stiff buttons. Still, for the price one would hope there shouldn’t be common issues with operation malfunctioning.

The other major difference between the two styles is that the old style had a smooth silicone finish, much like that of other silicone toys, but the new style has a velvety matte finish that is absolutely divine! I couldn’t stop touching it once I got it and love the finish, though it does create more friction than other smoother silicone finishes and that combined with the sublime girth of the toy means a good amount of lubrication is required before insertion.

Speaking of girth, I do quite love the size of the Boss, thick and wonderful without being overwhelming or daunting. Quite perfect, really, especially for an amateur size queen such as myself. Boss is semi-realistic looking with a distinct head and veins at the base of the insertable silicone, and has a wonderful g-spot curve which I could definitely feel and adored.

I adore the black color and am disappointed that Babeland only seems to have the hot pink for sale, although while I was at the store I was told the color selection on Fun Factory toys is somewhat sporadic and they basically just get whatever Fun Factory sends to them regardless of color requests.

Honestly, I’m not big on internal vibrations as I prefer my vibrations clitoral and although Boss’ vibrations are substantial and wonderful for clitoral stimulation he’s rather cumbersome when used that way. However, I love Boss’ girth and the velvety texture is just delicious so I know I’m going to be using him a lot as a dildo at least (which he does very well) even if not with vibration included.

Anal Toy Review: Rude Boy

rudeboy

Hi there, guest reviewer Onyx here with my first solo sex toy review!

Today I will be reviewing the Rude Boy prostate massager, courtesy of Tabu Toys.

First let’s get the boring technical details out of the way so we can boldly dive into all the great reasons why every guy on the planet should own one of these amazing toys.

The Rude Boy is a high quality toy, made from phthalate free medical grade silicone. It is therefore hypo-allergenic and non-porous and can be boiled to sterilize it provided you remove the vibrating bullet first of course. As with most silicone toys you should use water-based lubricants, and avoid using silicone based lubes as they may have adverse effects on the toy itself.

The Rude Boy is an insertable prostate massager that is designed to stimulate both the prostate and perineum simultaneously. The shaft is inserted in the anus, while the nubby base is pressed against the perineum. It has a simple press-button that activates the vibrating bullet in the base and the vibrations travel easily to the end of the toy causing what I found to be an amazing degree of stimulation.

Prostate stimulation is something relatively new to me, but something I am rapidly becoming addicted to. This is my first time using a vibrating prostate massager and all I can say is WOW! The dual stimulation provided by the tip and base were intensely pleasurable and it seemed to hit my P-spot just right. Combined with stimulation of the penis this has led to some of the best orgasms I have ever had. The toy is a very nice size and even anal beginners should find it comfortable with the right amount of lube, the soft silicone and the superb design makes the insertion very smooth and pleasant.

Personally I prefer to insert the toy and kind of leave it in place, just focusing on the vibration instead of moving it in and out, but that might be different from others. One caveat is that due to the non-bulbous design it may slip out rather easily, so you might want to use one hand to hold it in place, or let a partner do that for you. The plus side of this is that you also use this hand to press the base more firmly against the perineum, creating an even more intense stimulation. The downside is that it makes it hard to keep the toy in while fucking unless your partner is on top.

One of the many downsides of the widespread homophobia in our society is that many men seem to have an irrational fear of receiving any kind of anal stimulation or penetration. To them I would say that they have no idea what they’re missing out on with toys such as the rude boy and strongly encourage them to banish their fear and allow themselves to experience the mind-blowing pleasure it can bring.

Thank you so much Tabu Toys sex toys for letting me review the amazing Rude Boy!
