How could I pass up a dildo from such a wonderful company as Vixen Creations that is also gorgeously red? Obviously I couldn’t. (Yes, I just answered my own rhetorical question. What of it?) Surprisingly, this is the first red dildo I own, there seems to be a surprising lack of red options out there for dildos, especially red silicone. Now I just need to find a red dildo with sparkles/glitter that isn’t made out of jelly.

The first dildo I ever owned was another Vixen toy named Leo. Even though I don’t own too many Vixen products all have a special place in my heart. I bought my Leo about eight years ago and it is still just as great as the first day I bought it. The marvelous thing about silicone toys is that if you treat them right they will last a damn long time.

Woody is similar to Leo in that their curves are comparable, though Woody is a little shorter and flares as it gets closer to the base. I knew I would like Woody because I love Leo and Brando, my other Vixen toy.

What’s there to say about Woody? It’s really a good solid toy all around.

Woody’s packaging is simple, like all Vixen products it comes in a transparent tube with the Vixen logo that has care and product instructions on the side.

It has a hole in his base and comes with a one-speed bullet vibrator with batteries included. Unlike other bullet vibrators of the same style this one has a removal string attached to it, which is pretty brilliant but I had not seen it before this toy. I love the string as it makes it so much easier to get the bullet out of Woody’s hole. It’s even easier with a bit of lube on the bullet before you slide it in, as long as it’s water-based lube.

When touching my finger to Woody’s head while the bullet was inside and on I could feel the vibrations all the way to the tip. Since I’m not big on internal vibration I’ve only used the bullet inside Woody once. Although it was pleasant when I used it that way I prefer vibrations on my clit. If you, like me, aren’t big on internal vibrations you can always use the bullet on your clit while using Woody inside you.

The length and width of Woody are both very nice, I really like the way it gets thicker near the base, and it’s not too long to be uncomfortable. It’s got a nice curve to it which, I was happy to discover, hits my g-spot exceptionally. Better than I imagined it would, actually. It’s made of a nice firm silicone that gives a little when you squeeze it but not much. Silicone being one of the safest sex toy materials out there, see care instructions below.

I haven’t used Woody in a harness yet, though I plan to soon and expect it will perform wonderfully. I love being able to have a realistic-looking cock in a non-realistic color (especially red), though Vixen also is the maker of VixSkin, a realistic feeling 100% silicone blend and Mustang is (I believe) Woody’s VixSkin skin-colored counterpart.

Basically, there’s just no bad here, especially if you like red dildos as I definitely do. Essentially the choice between Vixen Creations dildos comes down to what size and color you want, as they are all quality toys and most of them are made to hit the g-spot.

The Tantus Vamp came out around Halloween of 2009 and was inspired by Twilight.

Before I go on I just want to say officially for the record Twilight “vampires” are not vampires. Vampires don’t sparkle. The creatures in Twilight are more like emo faeries. Yes, I said it. I haven’t read the Twilight books, though I have (ashamedly) seen the (horrible) movies that are out due to a good friend who dragged me to the latest one. I’m not a fan.

Yes, the Vamp is made to be like a Twilight “vampire’s” cock: pale and sparkly and cold (Silicone retains temperature well, so you can pop it in the fridge or run it under cold water to cool it down for that “fun” necrophilia vampire feeling). So, not being a fan of Twilight, why did I get the Tantus Vamp to review? Well, it’s f’ing awesome. Seriously.

I’m all about fabulous sparkly things (the dildo, not the “vampires”) and so when Fascinations offered me the Vamp to review I couldn’t resist it! It doesn’t really sparkle as in glitter it rather shimmers kind of like the way snow catches the light, or crystals of any sort. If you’ve ever used shimmer body mist it’s that same kind of shimmer, mostly-there-but-sometimes-not kind of shimmer. It is awesome. Don’t take my word for it, here’s a video by Tantus showing off the shimmery sparklyness:

In addition to the awesome color it is also made by Tantus which in and of itself is enough to make me want to try it. Tantus uses their own specially formulated blend of 100% medical grade silicone and is one of the top producers of silicone (and aluminum) toys out there, in my opinion. I have written a number of Tantus reviews, including a recent one of a dildo somewhat similarly shaped the Deuce 2.

Silicone is awesome because it is hypoallergenic, non-porous, phthalate free, and generally body-friendly. It won’t make your insides burn when you use it⁰¹, it can be completely sterilized (see care instructions below) and therefore used in any orifice of any person as long as you sterilize it between people and moving from the back- to the front-door. While silicone toys do tend to be more expensive they are well worth the price because, unlike cheaper materials, they will last forever as long as you take care of them⁰².

I think the Vamp is an excellent size, a little larger than average perhaps, but large enough to satisfy those who enjoy larger toys and small enough for those relatively new to toys or penetration to use. The base makes it very easy to hold on to while using it solo or with a partner and the flared base makes it great for anal play or use within a strap-on harness.

Vamp really is a realistic-looking dildo, aside from the sparklyness and the extremely pale color. It has a wonderful realistic head as well as veins that run along the shaft, not so many that it is unrealistic or uncomfortable, just enough to be aesthetically pleasing. While the shaft is only slightly curved it still does provide some fabulous g-spot stimulation due to the shape of the head.

It’s really just a great dildo in general, but if you are also into Twilight (and it’s fine if you are, I’m not judging just stating my own opinions!) it would be easy to use this during a sexy “vampire” roleplay, and since it is harness-compatible, shareable, and able to be stuck in the fridge to cool it down below body temperature there are many ways to use it in that regard.

The second I saw the Fun Factory Wave I fell in love. It comes in purple and turquoise⁰¹, both colors are gorgeous and rich in true Fun Factory fashion. I absolutely love Fun Factory toys not just because they come in a wide variety of colors and extremely unique shapes but also because they only use body-safe materials.

Like most other Fun Factory toys the Wave is made out of 100% medical-grade silicone. It is glossy and smooth, so with a dab of lube⁰² it is easy to insert and thrust with. It is fairly hard silicone as well, not as hard as glass or metal obviously, but more firm than other silicone toys I have experienced (the Fun Factory Curve, for example is softer than Wave).

Silicone is non-porous, phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, super easy to clean and sterilize-able so it can be shared between partners (fluid-bonded or not) without having to worry about bacteria getting caught in it⁰³ or anything like that. The easiest way to sterilize silicone is just to pop it in the dishwasher on the top rack with no soap, you can also boil it for 10 minutes in a large pot, or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. To clean, simply wash with soap and water. Since this is a dildo without any mechanical or buzzy vibrating parts it can be completely submerged without the risk of damage.

Although this is not my second Fun Factory dildo this is the second I’ve owned with this particular base, the first being Bandito. The base is nice and thick, about 1/2 inch at least, and instead of being circular it has a triangle-like shape to it. The design of the base makes it extremely easy to grip, each indent in the triangle is a perfect place to hold on to while thrusting.

It also is perfect for use in a harness. As long as you have the correct o-ring size it will not slip out as the thickness of the base prevents it from warping out of the ring. The triangle shape makes it fit well in any harness, fitting with the natural triangle shape of the pubic mound and making it extremely comfortable. While the base is not made to be a suction-cup, but it is slightly concave and can work somewhat well as one if you try.

The dildo itself is fairly long, seven and a half inches, which makes it excellent for use in a harness by a larger person⁰⁴ such as myself as you can easily see it. I think longer dildos give more control over movements in some way as well, with shorter toys I tend to slip out more often, but longer ones are easier to keep inside. It is also gracefully curved and hits the g-spot easily and wonderfully. The firmness of the silicone really makes it ideal for g-spot or p-spot stimulation.

As you can see in the pictures above the shaft is also where Wave gets it’s name. It has three distinct “waves” in it which each are gradually larger than the other. They have a nice curve to them so they are not jarring when inserted but, rather, a pleasant sensation. They give the feeling of fullness without the shaft being too thick in and of itself.

I have used Wave both in a harness and solo and I think it shines both ways, the ridges on it are lovely, gradually increasing in side and giving delightful sensation when moving in and out. It is currently one of my favorite harness-compatible toys. If you love ribbed dildos or just want to try one I would definitely say this is a wonderful one to try.
