Ever since I reviewed the Fairy Mini Mini I have said the only thing that would make the Fairy Mini Mini better would be to make it rechargeable. With the Fairy Pocket Mini they have done just that. FPM is also quieter and smaller, if you can believe it, about the size of a pocket rocket (hence, I think, the name). Unfortunately FPM has lost the best feature of the FMM, in my opinion.
FPM isn’t just rechargeable, it charges via USB port, an added geeky bonus to an already awesome toy. I only have one other USB rechargeable toy, but it does seem to be an awesome geeky addition that is popping up more frequently now. It comes with the USB cord but if you have a USB adapter you could also plug it into the wall and charge it that way.

When charging a blue light comes on opposite to the charging port. It doesn’t blink or give you any indication when it is done charging, but at least it gives you some indication that it is charging. Unfortunately there is nothing to cover the charging port, so it is very easy for dirt to get into it and very difficult to clean. This also means the toy is far from waterproof, though you could still clean it with water if you are careful not to get any in the charging port.
As I already mentioned, FPM is smaller and quieter than FMM, about two inches, making it by far the smallest massager-type vibrator. Really it’s some sort of freak combination between a massager and a pocket rocket, which I’m okay with. I don’t have a huge amount of experience with pocket rockets (I own one) but the big difference that I can tell is the flexible head that FPM has. Pocket rockets tend to be a straight shaft with nubs on the end in one direction so you don’t have a wide variety of angles you can hold it at, but FPM can be held multiple different ways and you can use the sides or the tip to get off with.

While FPM is quieter it is also not as powerful as FMM, although that’s not a completely fair comparison because FMM has crazy strong vibrations. Stronger-than-Hitachi crazy strong vibrations. FPM is about equivalent to the Acuvibe Mini in strength, and like most massagers it only has two available speeds. This is the most disappointing thing to me about it because FMM is amazing and has a dial speedometer so you have a ton of speed options to choose from, and I was hoping FPM would be the same way. Alas, it is not.
That doesn’t mean it’s not my second favorite massager-type vibrator now, because it is. I still think it is far superior to any other massager-type that I have tried aside from FMM. It is also more portable than FMM, since FMM is either attached to the wall or dragging around a 4×3″ battery pack on a cord coming out from it at all times during use. FPM is definitely the smaller more portable and convenient option.
If you don’t want to be attached to a wall or use batteries FPM is definitely the best super-strong massager (slash pocket rocket) and an excellent toy. One last warning, it may actually be too strong for folks out there, but those who require massager-level vibrations in order to get off are sure to love it. Did I mention it also comes with a handy wrist-strap?
Maybe the best part of either of the Fairy products is the Engrish on the box. FPM has wonderful phrases like “Fairy Pocket mini for Women’s.” Yes, that’s right, women’s. Women’s what? We’ll never know. Also: “Fairy series final-type handy vibe revolution. It is a settled small size in the pocket. Electric massage machine of minimum in the world pocket size.”

From top to bottom: Miracle Massager, Hitachi, Acuvibe Mini, Mini Wanachi, Fairy Mini Mini, Fairy Pocket Mini.
Much thanks to My Pleasure sex toys for sending me the Fairy Pocket Mini Wand!

Review: Liberator Hipster

The Liberator Hipster
There are very few products which spice up my relationship more than when I get a new Liberator shape in the mail. This isn’t to say that my relationship doesn’t have spice already, I like to think it’s like a nice homemade curry powder with just the right amount of kick, but since each shape is unique they each require a lot of research. And by research I mean sex. And by sex I mean sex in as many positions and as many ways as possible that work with the new shape complete with lots of getting off. Unlike other products I review getting a new vibrator or dildo in the mail is not as exciting for Onyx as getting a new piece of sex furniture.
The Hipster shape from Liberator is quite similar to the Ramp (click to read my review for more info on the Ramp) which I already had when I received the Hipster in the mail. They are the same length and just slightly different in height (an inch or two) but the major difference between the two of them is their incline. The Ramp has a straight slope while Hipster has two very notable curves.

While these curves may not seem like much of a difference, they really are for a variety of reasons. The curves of Hipster are more comfortable for the body to conform to, or at least for my very curvy body to conform to. I find that my back is less strained while lying on the Hipster than on the Ramp, something I didn’t notice until I had both of them to compare against each other. While the Ramp is far more comfortable than shoving multiple pillows under you to get the same effect it also is less conforming than the Hipster. However, depending on your size this may or may not hold true for you, I could see the comparison being much different for smaller people.
I also generally think that the Hipster is easier to move and hold on to since it is slightly lighter and also generally easier to get a hold of. I’m not entirely sure why this is, perhaps because it is less stiff and rigid than the Ramp is, but in any case that’s what I’ve experienced.
It’s easier for me to lay on the Hipster on my back with my ass at the height of it and my head at the bottom as well. I feel less like I’m fighting gravity to keep me from sliding back toward my head like I do with the Ramp. I assume this is because my body is sinking comfortably into the curves of the Hipster while on the Ramp I’m just on the sharp incline that doesn’t have a whole lot of traction and doesn’t stop me from sliding down.

There’s also a magical position that can be achieved with the Hipster that is not nearly so easy with the Ramp. This is something you could do with a pillow or with the Whirl, and probably other shapes like the Cube though I can’t say for sure having not had the pleasure of experiencing either of these. This position is one that is shown on the Hipster page, basically the receptive partner has the high curve under hir01 hips, hir knees resting within the dip and hir legs are together (or very slightly parted) which, due to the curves of the Hipster, still gives the penetrative partner access. The penetrative partner essentially straddles the receptive partner and is able to thrust. While this isn’t really a super magical or new position to everyone (though it is to me) it is much easier to achieve with the Hipster than otherwise.
Of course, I’ve only mentioned a couple of the positions possible with the Hipster. There are many other options under the sun, but not having carnivalesq’s fantastic drawing skills I am going to leave those up to your imagination and the images on the Liberator page.
As much as I loved the Ramp I love the Hipster even more, something I didn’t think would be possible but Liberator just had to come out with something even better. While the Ramp has it’s own perks–interlocking with the Wedge for notable instance–the Hipster’s sexy curves really do make a big difference.

Big huge thanks to Liberator for sending me a Hipster to review!

Book Review: Please, Sir (Blog Tour)
Written by May 30, 2010, 14:12

I was lucky enough to be able to be included at the very end of this month-long Please, Sir blog tour (full list of the tour participants and their posts or blogs below). I received Please, Sir a couple of weeks ago and have been working my way through it. It is an outstanding anthology focused on stories from the submissive perspective of male-dominant and female-submissive parings. I was expecting, like most anthologies, to have a mixed bag of stories, some that turned me on, others that were well-written but less interesting, but that was not the case.
The book starts with a bang with the editor Rachel Kramer Bussel’s Introduction titled Risk and Reward, setting the theme for the entire book. The now over-quoted beginning:
If you ask me, submission is an art form. It requires dedication, focus, commitment and desireæand there’s no single way of doing it. It’s about unlocking something within yourself so you can reach beyond your normal limits, exposing your body and soul in order to go somewhere you cannot get to alone.
I had a lover who always told me that the key to life is “High risk, high reward.” The same is true about kink, and this is evident throughout the stories in Please, Sir, which explores female submission and male dominance from the sub’s point of view. When these characters take risks, they are rewarded…even when those rewards look like “punishment.” They are rewarded in all kinds of ways, from being bound to being praised to being choked, spanked or put on display. They are rewarded by being tested again and again.
You can read the entire introduction here.
I found this theme to be evident in every story, and myself relating to the stories in one way or another, especially coming from a primarilly male-dominant/female-submissive relationship. Each story was well-written and engaging, painting a picture of the world and power in which the couple operated. I was connected with and turned on by every story in the book, regardless of how close or different the characters were from my own experiences, which doesn’t happen often.
Before reading this book I had bought Yes, Sir, another of Rachel Kramer Bussel’s books on the same subject matter, but had not yet gotten around to reading it, and after the amazing experience I have had reading through the exceptional stories in this book I will be pushing it to the top of my reading pile. I am also going to give this to my partner Onyx to read, or perhaps read a story or two aloud to him that I particularly enjoy. There are so many, though, I’m not sure I would know how to choose.
The book showcases a variety of ways to play with power and exchange power between a couple, from casual interactions to long-term committed partners, first-times to experienced players, and a range of topics. Breath Play, bondage, fear, anticipation, teasing, rough sex, and so much more. The writers articulate the varied experiences of the submissive partner in different, interesting, and relateable ways that, I believe, anyone with an interest in female submission would enjoy.
Check out the wonderful trailer, below, featuring bits of two of the stories and lots of sexy images and the rest of the blog posts on the tour. Finishing up the tour tomorrow is the sexy and wonderful Curvaceous Dee.

Dildo Review: Tantus Vamp
Written by May 4, 2010, 14:50
One Comment • Related Topics: 3 Lotuses - Good, Dildos, Tantus, Text Reviews

The Tantus Vamp came out around Halloween of 2009 and was inspired by Twilight.
Before I go on I just want to say officially for the record Twilight “vampires” are not vampires. Vampires don’t sparkle. The creatures in Twilight are more like emo faeries. Yes, I said it. I haven’t read the Twilight books, though I have (ashamedly) seen the (horrible) movies that are out due to a good friend who dragged me to the latest one. I’m not a fan.
Yes, the Vamp is made to be like a Twilight “vampire’s” cock: pale and sparkly and cold (Silicone retains temperature well, so you can pop it in the fridge or run it under cold water to cool it down for that “fun” necrophilia vampire feeling). So, not being a fan of Twilight, why did I get the Tantus Vamp to review? Well, it’s f’ing awesome. Seriously.
I’m all about fabulous sparkly things (the dildo, not the “vampires”) and so when Fascinations offered me the Vamp to review I couldn’t resist it! It doesn’t really sparkle as in glitter it rather shimmers kind of like the way snow catches the light, or crystals of any sort. If you’ve ever used shimmer body mist it’s that same kind of shimmer, mostly-there-but-sometimes-not kind of shimmer. It is awesome. Don’t take my word for it, here’s a video by Tantus showing off the shimmery sparklyness:
In addition to the awesome color it is also made by Tantus which in and of itself is enough to make me want to try it. Tantus uses their own specially formulated blend of 100% medical grade silicone and is one of the top producers of silicone (and aluminum) toys out there, in my opinion. I have written a number of Tantus reviews, including a recent one of a dildo somewhat similarly shaped the Deuce 2.
Silicone is awesome because it is hypoallergenic, non-porous, phthalate free, and generally body-friendly. It won’t make your insides burn when you use it01, it can be completely sterilized (see care instructions below) and therefore used in any orifice of any person as long as you sterilize it between people and moving from the back- to the front-door. While silicone toys do tend to be more expensive they are well worth the price because, unlike cheaper materials, they will last forever as long as you take care of them02.
I think the Vamp is an excellent size, a little larger than average perhaps, but large enough to satisfy those who enjoy larger toys and small enough for those relatively new to toys or penetration to use. The base makes it very easy to hold on to while using it solo or with a partner and the flared base makes it great for anal play or use within a strap-on harness.
Vamp really is a realistic-looking dildo, aside from the sparklyness and the extremely pale color. It has a wonderful realistic head as well as veins that run along the shaft, not so many that it is unrealistic or uncomfortable, just enough to be aesthetically pleasing. While the shaft is only slightly curved it still does provide some fabulous g-spot stimulation due to the shape of the head.
It’s really just a great dildo in general, but if you are also into Twilight (and it’s fine if you are, I’m not judging just stating my own opinions!) it would be easy to use this during a sexy “vampire” roleplay, and since it is harness-compatible, shareable, and able to be stuck in the fridge to cool it down below body temperature there are many ways to use it in that regard.
A big huge thanks to Fun Love for sending me a Vamp to review!

BDSM Toy Review: Red Heart Wrist Restraints
Written by May 2, 2010, 18:56

I’m a sucker for hearts, so the moment I saw these restraints I knew I had to have them. I actually already had the matching collar, and also requested the matching cock ring from Adult Sex Toys for my upcoming Cock Ring Week feature.
These cuffs are well made with two straps of sturdy leather, one as the base width and the other thinner strap with the inlayed hearts, and quality metal connectors. Each restraint has an O-ring attached to the thinner leather strip via D-ring. They have red stitching which matches the color of the hearts perfectly and is an excellent elegant enhancement to these already gorgeous cuffs.
I’ve had the matching collar for over a year and a half, possibly two years, so I can speak to the long-term durability of these as well, which is quite high. Unfortunately one of the hearts has come out of the collar I have, though that was due to rather rough use. I wore the collar 24/7 for quite a few months and it still looks great aside from the lack of a single heart.
They are quite comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time, the insides are soft against the skin, and easily adjustable to fit large or small wrists. My wrists are fairly large at around eight and a half inches and these fit easily around them. I especially love to use these in conjunction with my Under the Bed Restraint System, though they don’t come with connector clips so you have to provide those on your own.
What else is there really to say? If you like the look of these they are definitely worth the money, not as expensive as other high-quality cuffs but more than the cheap stuff that doesn’t last too long anyway. In addition to the collar and cock ring there are also matching Ankle Restraints and a matching Flogger! Someday I hope to own the whole set.
Much thanks to Adult Sex Toys for sending me the Red Heart Wrist Restraints to review.

Lube Review: Sliquid Swirl Blue Raspberry
Written by Apr 24, 2010, 16:22
No Comment • Related Topics: 4 Lotuses - Very Good, Flavored, Sliquid, Text Reviews, Water-Based

Sliquid Swirl Blue Raspberry is very similar in texture to Sliquid’s Original H2O with one big difference. As one would guess from the name, this Sliquid lube is flavored. Sliquid Swirl only has two additional ingredients that Original H2O doesn’t: Blueberry & Raspberry flavoring and Aspertame. Unlike many other flavored lubes it actually tastes pretty good.
Like all of Sliquid‘s lubes it is both glycerin- and paraben-free so it is completely body-safe. Why should you care about glycerin and parabens? Well, glycerin is extremely genital unfriendly. It is a sugar derivative and any sugar on or in the cunt can lead to yeast infections, especially in those prone to them. It is also used as a suppository to prevent constipation, in other words it can give you the runs. Definitely not sexy. Parabens are endocrine-disrupting chemicals and can disrupt the reproductive system and are associated with a number of cancers as well as liver toxicity. There are plenty of other evil nasty chemicals in other lubes, especially commercial ones, and Sliquid lubes are happily free of them all.
The lack of glycerin also makes sure the lube will never become sticky. All Sliquid lubes are also hypoallergenic, non-toxic, non-staining, vegan, and compatible with all types of condoms and every sex toy material. They even have an Organics line, but do not currently have any flavored organics lubes.
Other flavored lubes I’ve tried either leave a funny aftertaste or smell divine but lack taste, Sliquid Swirl Blue Raspberry, however, actually both smells and tastes good. The flavoring isn’t overly sweet or overpowering, doesn’t have that weird fake sugar aftertaste despite being made with aspertame, and is a pleasant addition to already wonderful lube.
The only other flavored lube I’ve liked the smell and taste of was incredibly thin so you would have to reapply and reapply and reapply it while using it. Granted, most water-based lubes need to be reapplied at some point in long sessions, but the thicker they are generally the less they need to be. Comparitively Sliquid Swirl is more like a gel than a watery lube, though they do have a much thicker self-proclaimed gel lube in both regular and organic (my review) versions.
Flavored lube is excellent for oral sex of any kind, especially if you are planning on any oral to genital contact post or during penetration. There are actually three other Sliquid Swirl flavors, Cherry Vanilla. Green Apple, and Pina Colada. Now I want to try all four!
Much thanks to Kama Sutra Closet for letting me review Sliquid Swirl Blue Raspberry!

Sticky? Not at all!

Porn Review: Glamazons

If I had a crush April Flores before watching Glamazons I fucking love her now. It’s hard not to, after watching this porno film slash love letter to April. There’s no wonder in my mind why she was awarded Heartthrob of the Year at the 2010 Feminist Porn Awards. While there were plenty of things about the film that didn’t quite work for me, April sure wasn’t one of them.
Glamazons is an “art porn film,” and from what I gather is the third film by Carlos Batts featuring (his wife) April after Alter Ego and Voluptuous Life. From Violet Blue:
Carlos wrote me saying, “April and I first thought of this as an extension of the photography we’d created the first 4 years of our relationship. We shot so much, all the time; we just needed another medium to help document the speed at which we recorded our lives. After making Alter Ego we were hesitant about doing another video project because we were not trying to make a pseudo artist adult film, or gonzo porn. We just wanted to try to document our lives for artistic reasons. The video camera became a natural extension of the art.”
There are sort-of six scenes, or, really, five sex scenes: two partner scenes and three solo scenes. Every scene except for one features April Flores.

Anal Toy Review: Nexus GPlay Trio
Written by Apr 18, 2010, 13:30

This is the first of many Nexus reviews, a wonderful company specializing in anal toys and g- or p-spot stimulation. While there are some toys in their line which don’t quite work with a female anatomy the majority of them are unisex (including a super sexy new stainless steel toy that is still “coming soon.” Want!). The GPlay Trio is an excellent anal starter kit, both to introduce you to Nexus in general and for any anal beginner.
All three toys are made of a 100% medical-grade silicone sleeve covering a long inserted vibrator with controls on the bottom. The silicone is incredibly smooth and silky, quite unique to Nexus toys, and somewhere between the usual matte and smooth silicone types. The vibrator can be removed for ease of cleaning (see care instructions below), but without the vibrating bit inserted the plugs are pretty useless as they’re not stiff enough to insert. The small and medium plugs have one vibration setting and the large plug has five, all controlled by a single power button on the base.

The shape and size of each of these are excellent. I especially love the base, something I tend to talk a lot about in my anal toy reviews as I far prefer oval or long rectangular bases to circular ones. These bases fit snugly between the cheeks and make the plugs extremely comfortable to wear. The only thing I would want to change to make these perfect is to make the neck slightly longer, they have a tendency to slip out if not paid attention to, especially the smaller two. The curved head makes for excellent g-spot stimulation regardless of sex, and the curves of the plugs feel very nice when thrusting.
Having three identically shaped plugs makes me feel a little like Goldilocks: “this one’s too small… this one’s too big… ahh, just right.” Though that’s not completely accurate, the small one is a bit too small, but the large and medium are both perfect depending on the situation
As I said, the small purple plug is a little too small for most experienced anal enthusiasts but is delightfully adorable and completely non-threatening so this would be the perfect beginner plug set for someone interested but perhaps a little daunted by the idea of sticking something up the backdoor. It really is about the size of a single finger, which is nice for warming up in theory but I’d rather just use my finger. We’ve only used the purple plug a few times preferring to skip it and go right for the larger ones since it is so tiny.
I like to use the medium red plug as a warm-up plug more than the purple one. It stays in much easier and is that wonderful in-between size that Goldilocks likes to tell us of, it is rarely too big or too small. This is probably both mine and Onyx’s favorite of the three. The large black plug is still smaller than some other anal toys I own, but is also often too big to go to immediately. Since it, like all the plugs, is more elliptical than round even though it is somewhat thick it still feels smaller than other toys with comparable thickness.

A big thank you to Nexus for providing me with the GPlay Trio!

BDSM Toy Review: Electrosex Torpedo Plug – Small
Written by Apr 9, 2010, 09:14
No Comment • Related Topics: 3 Lotuses - Good, Electrosex, Text Reviews, Zeus

The Electrosex Torpedo Plug is the second of two accessories I received to go along with my Electrosex Deluxe Power Box. The other accessory was the Electrosex Pleasure Clamps. Unlike the Pleasure Clamps and the Torpedo Plug is a dipolar toy. However, before I go any further, a little on electrosex play.
Basically electrosex toys stimulate beneath the surface rather than on the surface like most toys and massagers and the like. An electrical current is passed through the body between two contact points in order to electrify the muscles underneath. It feels very much like a deep tissue massage at the lower levels, though it can produce painful sensations as well.
Zeus recommends not to play with any of their electrosex equipment above the waist or if you “have a pace maker, have epilepsy or other neurological disease, are pregnant, have heart disease, while driving or operating equipment,” or “near any metal objects such as piercing jewelery, rings, bracelents, or metallic IUDs.” Zeus recommends the first bit to save their own asses for selling such equipment, I believe, it can be used above the waist as long as the current doesn’t pass through the chest cavity as even at a low voltage there is risk of interfering with heart function.
Both the pads which came with the Power Box and the Pleasure Clamps used two separate connector points in order to complete the circuit for the electrical current to pass between. If one of the pads or clips was connected to your skin and the other was not you would not feel the electricity due to the incomplete circuit.
The Torpedo Plug, as I mentioned before, is a dipolar toy, which means that it contains both sides of the circuit and does not require a second connector to complete it. This makes it less complicated than the other two I have reviewed and also safer. Since it is dipolar you don’t have to worry about the current passing the chest cavity or any of that nonsense unless you use it in a way it is not intended for. You always want to make sure the power is off before inserting or removing the toy, of course.
It is made out of plastic and metal, both of which are both non-porous and phthalate-free, it can be sterilized and therefore shared between partners and orifices. This works well in either the cunt or anus, but never use it in the anus then the cunt without cleaning it between.
It’s really not that big, about the length of a finger and the width of a fat thumb, and about the same shape too. It’s not actually round, but rather oval in shape. This makes it unintimidating for both the anal novice or the electrosex novice. The idea of shoving something large that would transmit electricity within me is so much more scary than this tiny little toy. Zeus does make a large version of the plug which is slightly thicker and double the length.
The only thing that bothers me about the size and shape of it is the base, which is teeny tiny. I worry that a greedy asshole would easily suck it up inside. While the cord could be used to extract it should that happen (though that’s a very very bad idea) I would prefer to use a condom or something on the toy which could be used in an emergency. However, since the current is not able to pass
through a barrier like latex that is not possible.
Now, what does it feel like? Well, the electrical current stimulates the muscles of the chosen orifice and makes them contract. This can be extremely pleasant on the lower settings, I’ve heard it compared to being fucked but didn’t make that association when I experienced it. On the higher settings it can feel like an extreme cramp, very painful and not at all pleasant. I highly enjoyed it, especially anally, I found that using it vaginally I experienced less of a sensation and had to turn the Power Box up higher to get the same level of stimulation.

Anal Toy Review: Sidekick 1

Not all butt plugs are created equal. I’ve been spoiled by plugs like Njoy Pfun and LELO Bob whose bases are made to nestle perfectly between butt cheeks, making wearing the plugs pleasurable and not making the skin of my ass right around my asshole sore. While the Sidekick 1 is a nice size and shape the round base just makes it awkward for any type of wear.
I should note, however, this is a personal preference and, I think, highly dependent on the size of one’s derrière. Since I’m a large person all around and have quite a large ass I think this makes it even more uncomfortable than if my butt was smaller. Oblong bases are far more comfortable in general for any sort of long-term wear, but your level of discomfort with a round base may be far different than mine.
Luckily, you don’t have to use this plug just for wearing. Since it is fairly small, an excellent starter-plug either generally for beginners or while working up to a larger plug or other anal toy. I have fairly large hands and it’s not much longer than my middle finger and about the width of two fingers.
The first little bloop of the toy has a curve to it which is quite aesthetically pleasing, but I could not really notice it while it was inside me, it felt like any other straight plug, but that’s not a bad thing. The second teardrop-shaped section of the plug is the largest section, and quite enjoyable while inserting or thrusting. I found the neck is a little short for wear as well, but we’ve already established this plug isn’t for wear. Because the base is thick and fairly big for a small toy it is easy to hold on to which makes thrusting with this little plug fairly enjoyable as well.

The Sidekick is made out of 100% medical-grade silicone so it is non-porous, phthalate-free, and can be sterilized (see care instructions below). Silicone is one of the most body-safe materials for toys to be made out of, but it does attract lint and stray hair like nobody’s business so it’s always advisable to store in a bag or other safe place, and wash both before and after use. Silicone also retains temperature so you can run it under cool or warm water to attain the effect you desire.
Despite my annoyance with the base I actually really like this plug. While the Pfun Plug is by far my favorite plug ever, this plug is half the price and is quite enjoyable for what it is.
The Sidekick 1 is so numbered because there is also a Sidekick 2 which is longer and slightly thicker, so if you are attracted to this plug but think it is a little small for your anal experience level I would suggest taking a gander at that.
A big thank you to Good Vibrations for providing me with the Sidekick Silicone Anal Plug!
