Lube Review: Swede Aqua Comfort

I’m always on the look out for other types of body-friendly lube to try, even though I’m pretty sold on Sliquid brand lubes I like to see if there are any products out there that rival theirs. One thing I love about Kama Sutra Closet is that Roylin, the owner, is just as concerned about toxic ingredients and materials as I am, so she only stocks body-friendly lubes as well. I was excited when I discovered Swede Aqua Comfort01 because it’s glycerin- and paraben-free as well as free of any nasty chemicals.
I went through and looked up every ingredient02. Most ingredients are natural and all ingredients completely non-threatening. Based solely on ingredients I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, even those sensitive to chemicals. Unfortunately, this review is not based solely on ingredients.
Aqua Comfort comes in an awesome pump-bottle that has my seal of approval. Seriously, I love pump bottles and more lube makers should use them, they’re so easy to use! The pump top even has a little cap to help prevent spillage as the pump can’t be pressed down with the cap on. Also, if you lose the cap, the top of the bottle twists 45 degrees so you can lock it so it won’t even be able to be pressed. Double protection.
The lube itself is smooth and slick. It’s not as thick as my beloved Sliquid but not nearly as runny as some other body-friendly lubes. It actually is quite pleasant until you’ve used it for a bit. I really don’t understand how it does this, but it gets kind of sticky.
It’s not sticky in the same way that lubes with glycerin in them get sticky, it’s more like… tacky. Or just generally unpleasant. I’m not quite sure how to describe it, it’s just not all wonderful smooth silky gliding anymore. It’s not completely uncomfortable, and I’ve had plenty of sessions using this lube, but there are definitely better body-friendly lubes out there.
Other than getting slightly sticky Aqua Comfort wins in every other respect. It’s practically odorless and tasteless and completely body-friendly. I’m just pretty picky with my lube.
If you choose to purchase this (or a Sliquid lube–hint hint) or anything else from Kama Sutra Closet be sure to use the code Wanton15 when you check out to get 15% off your purchase. Much thanks to Kama Sutra Closet for sending me some Swede Aqua Comfort to review!

Heavy Metal Week – Vibrator Review: Vida Urja

I wanted to like the Vida Urja. I really really did. I love the idea of remote controlled toys, they can be so naughty and sexy in the right hands. I love going out with something tucked against my clit or inside of me with the remote in Onyx’s pocket. Unfortunately, though Urja is gorgeous it just did not live up to my hopes for it.
Urja (ûrj’əh) is packaged beautifully, it really is a luxury toy in every sense of the word. In addition to the vibrator and controller, both of which I’ll talk about later, Urja also comes with a power adapter (yes, the vibrator half of Urja is rechargeable!), a faux leather carrying case, a storage bag that closes with a ribbon, a user manual, and a standard one-year product warranty. The presentation is gorgeous and luxurious and if this review were based on presentation alone this toy would easily have been a five.
Both the vibrator and controller are hourglass shaped and pretty sexy looking. I’m not big on pink but I love the black with pink accents and think it looks excellent. They are just plain beautifully designed and well-made. The shiny middle parts of both of them are aluminum (qualifying them for Heavy Metal Week) and they have matte silicone on each end. The pink is, I believe, ABS plastic, though I haven’t found documentation to back me up on that. The removal string on the vibrator is made of silicone and is slightly stretchy but difficult to break.
The vibrator half of Urja is the one that is plugged in, it has a silicone cover for it’s power port therefore making it watertight since it is designed to be inserted. The controller is powered by a weird little 23A battery which is very nicely included with purchase so you don’t have to go around searching for it. The controller of the only other remote-controlled vibrator I’ve owned was powered with the same battery and I’ve actually seen some sex toy shops carrying it specifically because, I assume, it’s pretty common for sex toy remotes.
Urja claims to charge in two hours for a resulting two hours of play time which seems, frankly, like a bad charging-to-play-time-ratio. Perhaps I’m spoiled, but it seems most rechargeable toy batteries get far better ratios than that. Also, when plugged in there is no light or indicator that it is charging at all and no indicator when it is done, so you just have to plug it in and assume it’s working as it’s supposed to. I do not like this. At all.
The controller has a single button that is not always easy to press. Luckily the controller does have a strip right around the button that does light up pink when you press it correctly. You have to press the button down rather firmly and for a few seconds before the vibrator will turn on. I assume this is so that it is not just going to randomly turn the vibrator on if the controller is jostling around in your pocket, so I can forgive this even though it is a little annoying.
Urja is supposed to have a range of about 20 feet between the controller and the vibrator that it will work within. While I was able to turn it on from across the room it wasn’t exactly easy and seems to work far better the closer the controller is to the vibrator. It also works best with a direct line between the controller and vibrator. It was not so easy if I was to either side of the person, perhaps there was too much flesh in the way or something.
The vibrations themselves are not too exciting. There are five speeds, from “is that on?” to “that’s nice, but not that powerful.” Every speed is a constant vibration, there are no fancy pulsing vibration patterns, though they aren’t necessarily needed. In order to turn Urja off, however, you must cycle through all five speeds, which is quite annoying. It would be better if there was an on/off button and two up/down buttons or at very least separate on/off and speed buttons. Oh well.
Since Urja is made for insertion the vibrations are also dampened a little bit when worn. It can be used against the clit but there isn’t a great way to hold it in place. The vibrations themselves aren’t too loud when inserted, though if you’re in a very quiet restaurant it would be possible to hear the vibrations, but in the age of vibrating cell phones it might not be too terribly noticeable. In a loud restaurant, bar, or club, however, no problem.
Where Urja really shines is for light teasing of a partner in an otherwise noisy situation. Unless you do not need much vibration strength to get off I would say Urja is not ideal for that, but, like every sex toy, it will work better for some than others. Though, for the most part, if you are using it internally that alone will probably not get you off, so the vibration strength might not be a deal breaker for you. It is adorable, well-made, and if a few things changed about it I think it could be just about perfect. Alas.

Heavy Metal Week – Vibrator Review: Tybo Europa
Written by Oct 18, 2010, 23:02

Tybo Europa doesn’t so much look like a sex toy but looks nearly identical to a mascara I used to have, same color red, same shape when the cap is on, and just about the same size. I assume this was intentional. It doesn’t look like a sex toy at all and would be easy to carry around in a bag or purse or leave out in the open without much suspicion, assuming you’re the type to wear make up.
Europa looks and feels like a luxury toy (and is priced that way too). It really is gorgeous and well made. I love the color and the design of it. Europa comes in three pieces: a triangular base, a long body with a round top, and a cylindrical cap. The body itself unscrews into three pieces, two silver and one red, and the battery sits within the red part of the toy. Each piece has a ring around where it screws in to make it watertight.
While Europa could be inserted it’s very slim which may or may not be a plus depending on how much of a size queen you are, and is definitely more suited to be a clitoral toy in general.

To turn Europa on simply press the button in the bottom of the toy. Unfortunately there is only one speed. Since it just takes one battery to power this product the vibration strength is not very high. If you need strong vibrations this toy is definitely not for you. This was definitely a disappointment, although I was able to get off with Europa but not without substantial amounts of hard work.
The one upside of Europa’s vibration strength is the material. This was my first introduction to a vibrator made out of a hard material. For those of us who love pressure using a hard material clitorally is seriously wonderful. This didn’t make up completely for the lack in vibration strength, but it definitely improved my feelings for Europa in general.
Being that Europa is made of metal it is also excellent for temperature play, stick it in the fridge or run it under warm water to play with sensations.
For the price I would have hoped for a rechargeable toy, or at least one with more than one speed. There are at least a handful of luxury toys in this price range that fit one or both of those. While Europa didn’t wow me completely it wasn’t completely horrid either and definitely turned me on to hard material vibrators.

BDSM Toy Review: Double Fish Hook Restraint
Written by Sep 10, 2010, 00:28

I had somewhat high hopes for this Double Fish Hook Restraint. Well, it definitely seemed odd, but potentially fun. I love gags and thought this one was unusual enough to be interesting and would work well enough to get me hot and bothered. Well, it was definitely interesting.
Essentially it is two just about 90 degree angled metal hooks with rubber coating on either end of a high quality leather strap that buckles in the back. The buckle is easily adjustable and also really long. Possibly freakishly long. As you can see in the picture below the two fish hooks on either side are designed to go in either side of the mouth. This doesn’t prevent you from cosing your mouth, it just stretches the sides of the mouth open making you look rather odd.
I have enjoyed when Onyx puts fingers in either corner of my mouth while fucking so I thought this would potentially remind me of that. While it did to an extent, mostly it was just awkward.

It was difficult to position so that it was actually doing much of anything. I have a relatively large head and even on the smallest of the settings the hooks had a difficult time staying in my mouth, and it was super easy to just push one out with my tongue. To prevent this the hooks could be bent further, but that could be potentially dangerous and I would worry about them ripping the corners of the mouth. Even though the hooks are covered in rubber they are still square-ish and would just not be comfortable or fun that way. Shortening the strap might make it work a little better, but you could still push the hooks out pretty easily, which takes away the point of this for me.
I’m tempted to see if I can find a way to use the back strap for my Whitehead Gag instead since it didn’t come with one. Honestly, I think a “restraint” isn’t necessary to do this specifically as fingers or another type of gag would work far better. I suggest a O-ring gag or silicone ball gag instead.

Vibrator Review: Nomi Tang’s Better than Chocolate
Written by May 2, 2010, 11:09

Now, I am an avid chocolate fanatic, but I was still underwhelmed with the name of Nomi Tang’s Better than Chocolate in general, as if chocolate would automatically win over normal vibrators? Sorry, no, my cunt would choose getting off over chocolate just about any day of the week barring soreness or other impeding factors. The name aside I was intrigued by it’s ability to be used in a shower or bath and the innovative control strip used to set the vibration pattern. Unlike other reviewers I was able to get off with it and therefore it has strong enough vibrations for me, but being able to get off with it is only one part of the puzzle.
BtC comes in a small and elegant white box with a slip-cover and reminds me very much of other luxury toy packaging such as LELO or Njoy. The toy is presented well in the box, nestled in a divider and includes a product manual and white velvety bag beneath it. The storage bag is a little strange for the toy, in my opinion, the drawstring is on the long side rather than the short side of it and barely larger than the toy itself, which makes it odd to close.
The controlls of BtC really are fantastic. Instead of buttons or switches like most vibrators it is controlled by a touch strip. Onyx remarked that it’s what Apple would make if they weren’t prudes, of course. Well, it does have one power button on the opposite tip of it’s diamond-like shape which simply turns it on and off, very handy to have and much easier than having to cycle through the vibration patterns like some other toys require you to do.
There is a little Nomi Tang logo on the touch strip which lights up blue when the toy is turned on. A touch to the opposite end of the touch strip and the logo turns red indicating it is locked, and when there is water or lube covering the touch strip the logo turns purple indicating it has auto-locked. A touch over the logo on the strip changes the vibration pattern and depending on the pattern the light blink. By stroking your finger up or down the touch strip when it is not locked you can increase or decrease either the vibration strength or pulse speed depending on the vibration pattern. BtC has three vibration patterns: constant and two pulses.
The manual gives you all of the needed information, such as how to operate the unique controls of BtC, what the different colors mean, vibration pattern information, various tips, and that it can be submerged in water up to one meter (three feet), which is really quite awesome. I have used it in the bath a few times and it had no water or damage to the battery compartment when I did. I did notice some odd behavior when submerged, however. It would occasionally unlock on it’s own while under water even if I had manually locked it, causing the vibration pattern to change mid-use which was mildly annoying.
While I was able to get off with it, as previously mentioned, I wouldn’t say it was nearly as satisfying to play with as other toys. The vibrations just aren’t that strong, though they were stronger than I expected. If you don’t need much in the way of strength, however, you wouldn’t have a problem.
I was really disappointed that a vibrator of this elegant unique design and high luxury-toy price is not rechargeable. It is powered by two AAA batteries which directly contributes to it’s vibration strength or lack thereof. If it was rechargeable (or less expensive) I think that would fix the problems I have with it and make it that much more fantastic of a product.

Porn Review: Glamazons

If I had a crush April Flores before watching Glamazons I fucking love her now. It’s hard not to, after watching this porno film slash love letter to April. There’s no wonder in my mind why she was awarded Heartthrob of the Year at the 2010 Feminist Porn Awards. While there were plenty of things about the film that didn’t quite work for me, April sure wasn’t one of them.
Glamazons is an “art porn film,” and from what I gather is the third film by Carlos Batts featuring (his wife) April after Alter Ego and Voluptuous Life. From Violet Blue:
Carlos wrote me saying, “April and I first thought of this as an extension of the photography we’d created the first 4 years of our relationship. We shot so much, all the time; we just needed another medium to help document the speed at which we recorded our lives. After making Alter Ego we were hesitant about doing another video project because we were not trying to make a pseudo artist adult film, or gonzo porn. We just wanted to try to document our lives for artistic reasons. The video camera became a natural extension of the art.”
There are sort-of six scenes, or, really, five sex scenes: two partner scenes and three solo scenes. Every scene except for one features April Flores.

Synopsis
Does art imitate life? It does in the lives of big, beautiful, adult film star April Flores and her husband, the director Carlos Batts. Experience the artistic interpretation of their fervid fantasies. As a multimedia muse, April’s erotic encounters are captured on film, in photographs and sketches. Various vignettes authentically document an ardent tryst with Ruby Violence, the pole-dancing contortionist crew, a self-gratifying solo scene and Jerry’s Polaroid-inspired passion play.

Review: Intimate Organics Foaming Bath – Orange & Wild Ginger
Written by Feb 11, 2010, 20:06

Who doesn’t love bubble baths? My apartment in Seattle has a wonderful tub for bubble baths, surprisingly deep, and I have had many a relaxing and wonderful bath there. The wonderfully energizing properties of Intimate Organics Orange & Wild Ginger Foaming Bath makes it a wonderful addition to any bathtime fun. However, don’t get duped into thinking this is a wonderful organic natural product.
Intimate Organics is tricky, with a name that has Organics in the title and the words Certified Organic on the bottom left side of the front of the label one would think their products would be 100% organic, but they’re not. They are made with 100% certified organic extracts, however, and are vegan, DEA- and paraben-free, and
It may be good in those regards, but being called organic and natural doesn’t mean it actually is. It boasts that it is DEA (diethanolamine) free right on the label and yet one of it’s ingredients is Cocamide DEA which is a derivative of DEA! It doesn’t contain DEA itself, so I suppose saying it is DEA-free isn’t completely a lie. To be fair, Cocamide DEA and other DEA derivatives are indeed safer than DEA itself, but they have still been linked to cancer and irritation like DEA.
It also includes sodium laureth sulphate, which is a poison and irritates the skin more than actually helping it. It gets rid of the natural healthy oils on our skin and then stays in our skin because our liver is unable to process it. Once SLS absorbs into the body it mimics the hormone Oestrogen messing with the body’s natural hormonal balance.
Unfortunately, sodium laureth sulphate is in the majority of bath products and even in things such as toothpaste. If Intimate Organics was really concerned about being all natural and healthy they would not include this, however.
Now, if you aren’t concerned about it’s ingredients than Intimate Organics Orange & Wild Ginger Foaming Bath would be fantastic for you. It can also be used as a body wash in addition to filling your tub with wonderful bubbles. It smells wonderful, a very natural orange scent as if you have peeled a dozen in the room, and that mixed with the spice of ginger makes the bathroom smell wonderful. I enjoyed the aromatherapy aspects of the foaming bath, even if the ingredients did not meet my standards.

Dildo Review: Belladonna’s Magic Hand
Written by Jun 20, 2009, 15:50
3 Comments • Related Topics: 2 Lotuses - Okay, Dildos, Doc Johnson, Text Reviews

We agreed to receive Belladonna’s Extreme Pussy and Ass for Onyx to review and got an extra Belladonna surprise, Belladonna’s Magic Hand, you may have noticed it on the bookshelf behind me in many of my latest video reviews. Now, Belladonna’s pretty awesome and I’ve been a fan of hers for quite some time, but putting a replica of her hand inside myself has never really been on my list of things “to do.”
I knew I was going to put her inside me, however, as I wouldn’t review something without actually using it first. Belladonna’s Magic Hand is made out of Sili-gel, as mentioned above, which is semi-porous and because of that it can never be completely sterilized. The hand has a funky smell to it, almost a chemical fruit smell, though mostly just rubbery.
To use her hand safely I stretched a regular condom over her fingers and down her wrist which was snug but surprisingly easy to do. Using a condom keeps the hand from picking up or transferring any bacteria to your naughty bits and also means you can share the hand if you want to.
I’ll be honest, I was extremely apprehensive about putting this thing inside of me. I knew because I was using a condom it was safe as far as the material was concerned but the idea of sticking someone’s disembodied hand up my cunt (that also kind of reminds me of Thing from The Addams Family) was not appealing. At all. However, I was also extremely curious and knew I would have to try it eventually.
We got me warmed up before pressing the rather long fingers inside of me, and actually got her up to the knuckles, which was actually a very nice stretch. It’s huge, obviously, as it’s a replica of a hand, which was great for an aspiring size queen such as myself but would definitely be too big for most and is something that needs a lot of warm up before-hand (pun intended).
When turned sideways her hand hit something and hurt, but up or upside down she was okay, though her fingers were too long to get her inside me past her knuckles.
Personally, the reason I enjoy fisting is because it stretches me open and also because it hits the g-spot. While Belladonna’s hand definitely stretched me nicely there was no g-spot contact whatsoever, which was highly disappointing. Stretching only goes so far for me and neither Onyx or myself are anywhere near being able to take this toy in our backdoors which may be a completely different and possibly better experience.
The creep factor was just a little too high for me on this toy, and that coupled with the fingers being too long–though I know it’s a replica of an actual hand so that’s not really able to be changed, but they could have been curled up a bit to give some nice g-spot stimulation–just means that while I’m definitely going to be displaying this toy for amusement purposes I can pretty much guarantee I will never use it again. It wasn’t horrible, but just not good either.
Much thanks to Tabu Toys sex toys for letting me review Belladonna’s Magic Hand!

Fun Factory Week – Vibrator Review: Angelo
Written by Jun 6, 2009, 11:45

Fun Factory Week concludes with a cute mini-vibe!
Did you see the rest of Fun Factory Week with the Boss (Lady), Cuffies Freestyle, Smartballs, and Bloomy reviews?
Angelo is a slightly different kind of vibe than the Boss Lady as he is part of Fun Factory’s miniVibes collection. He’s, well, smaller obviously, and as he takes two AAA batteries rather than four he is less intense as well.
The shape is pleasing to the eye and I love the rippley designs on the shaft and head. While this vibrator was very good and did it’s job to get me off there was just no “wow” factor to it for me. That may be because I’m a bit of a toy snob by now, and while there was nothing wrong with Angelo per se I just wasn’t all that impressed with him.
The idea behind the miniVibes is that they are small enough to carry around with you and fit in a purse or backpack easier than larger, bulkier vibes. This is definitely true, it’s small and compact, rather adorable. It’s also meant to be versatile, with the curve at the end of Angelo being made for both clitoral and g-spot stimulation.
I especially enjoyed Angelo for clitoral stimulation, not with the tip of the curve but with the outer curve itself. I fit the flat back of the curving tip against my clit and was able to use a good amount of pressure, which was very nice and not something all vibrators can do. If you like a lot of pressure Angelo is great for that reason alone.
However, g-spot stimulation was kind of a bust. Angelo just wasn’t really long enough or the right shape or size to get my g-spot where I needed it. Few toys can get me off on g-spot stimulation alone but Angelo not only couldn’t do that but had a difficult time finding my g-spot even with the assist of my knowledgeable hands. Luckily I’m not all to into internal vibration anyway, preferring to keep my vibrators external and my dildos internal, but that could definitely be difficult for some. However, others also may not find it as difficult to find the g-spot with Angelo as I did, so that’s something to keep in mind as well.
Overall Angelo is a decent vibe and great as far as portability. A lot of smaller vibes would either be more expensive or not as well made, which is definitely a plus.

Review: Agent Secret Game
Written by Apr 14, 2009, 17:47

I was really excited to receive the Agent Secret Game because it’s made by the same people as my Regard Indiscret Set which I absolutely adore. I thought it would be a cute light bondage set. I really really wanted to like it. Unfortunately it really didn’t live up to my expectations. At all.
The basic idea behind the set is to create a sexy interrogation scene. Agent 001 uses what’s in hir bag to write down a sexy desire on the card, then lock the card with the padlock and Agent 002 can then use the sexy stuff in hir bag to pleasure-torture the combination to the padlock out of Agent 001.
Going into it I knew that the items were not going to be hardcore bondage and torture items. I didn’t expect this, but I did expect them to be at least semi-high quality.
Since there is a suspension of disbelief that goes on in roleplaying I can accept that the card to write the fantasy on and lock is made out of cardstock which the padlock could be easily ripped off of. That’s alright.
I did, however, expect the satin mask included to be Bijoux’s Shhhh Blindfold, mostly because Babeland has a link to the Shhhh blindfold in the description of the Agent Secret Game. I was highly disappointed when the blindfold I pulled out was a really basic sleep-mask type blindfold with an elastic band on the back. While the blindfold is more padded than usual sleep-masks (I think, anyway) it was highly disappointing.
Next, the vibrating ring. I admit I may be spoiled because the first cock ring we tried was the LELO Bo, however the vibrating ring which was included in the set appears to be jelly. I cannot confirm the material of the vibrating ring because there is no real information about it other than brief instructions on how to turn it on. It doesn’t overly smell but it definitely looks suspiciously like jelly.
Other than being jelly what also bothered me is that the color of the cock ring is not coordinated with the rest of the set at all. Everything else in the set is either black, white, grey, or red and black, the cock ring is a pinkish orange color that just disrupts the sexy dark tones going on in the set. Not impressed.
The feather tickler, on the other hand, looks fairly nice. I dig the colors, it’s red and black and nice looking, though I’m not actually a fan of ticking in any sense at all ever, but the handle seems well constructed and it has a wrist-loop of polyester or nylon cord. I pulled a little on the feathers and they did not fall apart or anything, so I call it a fairly decent win.
Lastly, the bondage ribbons. Maybe I just had too high of hopes for them, but they are not what I was hoping for or expecting. They are two ribbons that are two and a half (2 1/2) feet or thirty (30) inches long. Each ribbon has a french phrase written on it: “Attache-moi et libere mon secret” which means “Tie me and free my secret,” which is pretty cute.
One end of each ribbon has a really long button-hole sewn into it and the instructions tell you to feed the other end of the ribbon through that hole to use. It does not offer further instructions, but I assume that then the ribbons could be tied together with the long excess ribbon, around a bed post perhaps or to separate objects. It seems like a strange way to do things, but okay, it kind of works.
One ribbon is a little too short to successfully tie around a wrist assuming you want to go around more than once, though maybe because of, you know, suspension of disbelief and all that, they don’t need to be that tight. Honestly, I’m not sure what I was expecting the bondage ribbons to look like, but I expected them to be higher quality than the ones I got, which seem thin and are a little too stiff to be super comfortable.
The entire set is cute, I love the tin box it comes in and how it’s separated for each “Agent” but despite the cuteness factor I was just not impressed with the set as a whole. Maybe I’m just too picky, or maybe I was expecting too much, I’m not sure, but either way I was disappointed when I opened the set.
I think this would probably be a good set for a very vanilla couple who is just starting to explore kink, but for anyone with the slightest bit of experience you may be just as disappointed as I. Even so, you could probably get these items separately for cheaper than the set itself, then again you wouldn’t get the round black tin box.
