Ever since I reviewed the Fairy Mini Mini I have said the only thing that would make the Fairy Mini Mini better would be to make it rechargeable. With the Fairy Pocket Mini they have done just that. FPM is also quieter and smaller, if you can believe it, about the size of a pocket rocket (hence, I think, the name). Unfortunately FPM has lost the best feature of the FMM, in my opinion.

FPM isn’t just rechargeable, it charges via USB port, an added geeky bonus to an already awesome toy. I only have one other USB rechargeable toy, but it does seem to be an awesome geeky addition that is popping up more frequently now. It comes with the USB cord but if you have a USB adapter you could also plug it into the wall and charge it that way.

When charging a blue light comes on opposite to the charging port. It doesn’t blink or give you any indication when it is done charging, but at least it gives you some indication that it is charging. Unfortunately there is nothing to cover the charging port, so it is very easy for dirt to get into it and very difficult to clean. This also means the toy is far from waterproof, though you could still clean it with water if you are careful not to get any in the charging port.

As I already mentioned, FPM is smaller and quieter than FMM, about two inches, making it by far the smallest massager-type vibrator. Really it’s some sort of freak combination between a massager and a pocket rocket, which I’m okay with. I don’t have a huge amount of experience with pocket rockets (I own one) but the big difference that I can tell is the flexible head that FPM has. Pocket rockets tend to be a straight shaft with nubs on the end in one direction so you don’t have a wide variety of angles you can hold it at, but FPM can be held multiple different ways and you can use the sides or the tip to get off with.

While FPM is quieter it is also not as powerful as FMM, although that’s not a completely fair comparison because FMM has crazy strong vibrations. Stronger-than-Hitachi crazy strong vibrations. FPM is about equivalent to the Acuvibe Mini in strength, and like most massagers it only has two available speeds. This is the most disappointing thing to me about it because FMM is amazing and has a dial speedometer so you have a ton of speed options to choose from, and I was hoping FPM would be the same way. Alas, it is not.

That doesn’t mean it’s not my second favorite massager-type vibrator now, because it is. I still think it is far superior to any other massager-type that I have tried aside from FMM. It is also more portable than FMM, since FMM is either attached to the wall or dragging around a 4×3″ battery pack on a cord coming out from it at all times during use. FPM is definitely the smaller more portable and convenient option.

If you don’t want to be attached to a wall or use batteries FPM is definitely the best super-strong massager (slash pocket rocket) and an excellent toy. One last warning, it may actually be too strong for folks out there, but those who require massager-level vibrations in order to get off are sure to love it. Did I mention it also comes with a handy wrist-strap?

Maybe the best part of either of the Fairy products is the Engrish on the box. FPM has wonderful phrases like “Fairy Pocket mini for Women’s.” Yes, that’s right, women’s. Women’s what? We’ll never know. Also: “Fairy series final-type handy vibe revolution. It is a settled small size in the pocket. Electric massage machine of minimum in the world pocket size.”

I’m a sucker for hearts, so the moment I saw these restraints I knew I had to have them. I actually already had the matching collar, and also requested the matching cock ring from Adult Sex Toys for my upcoming Cock Ring Week feature.

These cuffs are well made with two straps of sturdy leather, one as the base width and the other thinner strap with the inlayed hearts, and quality metal connectors. Each restraint has an O-ring attached to the thinner leather strip via D-ring. They have red stitching which matches the color of the hearts perfectly and is an excellent elegant enhancement to these already gorgeous cuffs.

I’ve had the matching collar for over a year and a half, possibly two years, so I can speak to the long-term durability of these as well, which is quite high. Unfortunately one of the hearts has come out of the collar I have, though that was due to rather rough use. I wore the collar 24/7 for quite a few months and it still looks great aside from the lack of a single heart.

They are quite comfortable to wear, even for long periods of time, the insides are soft against the skin, and easily adjustable to fit large or small wrists. My wrists are fairly large at around eight and a half inches and these fit easily around them. I especially love to use these in conjunction with my Under the Bed Restraint System, though they don’t come with connector clips so you have to provide those on your own.

What else is there really to say? If you like the look of these they are definitely worth the money, not as expensive as other high-quality cuffs but more than the cheap stuff that doesn’t last too long anyway. In addition to the collar and cock ring there are also matching Ankle Restraints and a matching Flogger! Someday I hope to own the whole set.

Vibrator Review: Nomi Tang’s Better than Chocolate

Now, I am an avid chocolate fanatic, but I was still underwhelmed with the name of Nomi Tang’s Better than Chocolate in general, as if chocolate would automatically win over normal vibrators? Sorry, no, my cunt would choose getting off over chocolate just about any day of the week barring soreness or other impeding factors. The name aside I was intrigued by it’s ability to be used in a shower or bath and the innovative control strip used to set the vibration pattern. Unlike other reviewers I was able to get off with it and therefore it has strong enough vibrations for me, but being able to get off with it is only one part of the puzzle.

BtC comes in a small and elegant white box with a slip-cover and reminds me very much of other luxury toy packaging such as LELO or Njoy. The toy is presented well in the box, nestled in a divider and includes a product manual and white velvety bag beneath it. The storage bag is a little strange for the toy, in my opinion, the drawstring is on the long side rather than the short side of it and barely larger than the toy itself, which makes it odd to close.

The controlls of BtC really are fantastic. Instead of buttons or switches like most vibrators it is controlled by a touch strip. Onyx remarked that it’s what Apple would make if they weren’t prudes, of course. Well, it does have one power button on the opposite tip of it’s diamond-like shape which simply turns it on and off, very handy to have and much easier than having to cycle through the vibration patterns like some other toys require you to do.

There is a little Nomi Tang logo on the touch strip which lights up blue when the toy is turned on. A touch to the opposite end of the touch strip and the logo turns red indicating it is locked, and when there is water or lube covering the touch strip the logo turns purple indicating it has auto-locked. A touch over the logo on the strip changes the vibration pattern and depending on the pattern the light blink. By stroking your finger up or down the touch strip when it is not locked you can increase or decrease either the vibration strength or pulse speed depending on the vibration pattern. BtC has three vibration patterns: constant and two pulses.

The manual gives you all of the needed information, such as how to operate the unique controls of BtC, what the different colors mean, vibration pattern information, various tips, and that it can be submerged in water up to one meter (three feet), which is really quite awesome. I have used it in the bath a few times and it had no water or damage to the battery compartment when I did. I did notice some odd behavior when submerged, however. It would occasionally unlock on it’s own while under water even if I had manually locked it, causing the vibration pattern to change mid-use which was mildly annoying.

While I was able to get off with it, as previously mentioned, I wouldn’t say it was nearly as satisfying to play with as other toys. The vibrations just aren’t that strong, though they were stronger than I expected. If you don’t need much in the way of strength, however, you wouldn’t have a problem.

I was really disappointed that a vibrator of this elegant unique design and high luxury-toy price is not rechargeable. It is powered by two AAA batteries which directly contributes to it’s vibration strength or lack thereof. If it was rechargeable (or less expensive) I think that would fix the problems I have with it and make it that much more fantastic of a product.

If I had a crush April Flores before watching Glamazons I fucking love her now. It’s hard not to, after watching this porno film slash love letter to April. There’s no wonder in my mind why she was awarded Heartthrob of the Year at the 2010 Feminist Porn Awards. While there were plenty of things about the film that didn’t quite work for me, April sure wasn’t one of them.

Glamazons is an “art porn film,” and from what I gather is the third film by Carlos Batts featuring (his wife) April after Alter Ego and Voluptuous Life. From Violet Blue:

Carlos wrote me saying, “April and I first thought of this as an extension of the photography we’d created the first 4 years of our relationship. We shot so much, all the time; we just needed another medium to help document the speed at which we recorded our lives. We just wanted to try to document our lives for artistic reasons. The video camera became a natural extension of the art.”

Synopsis

Scene-by-scene

“The Feast of Venus” is imposed on the screen We start with April and Ruby Violence. The entire scene is in soft focus giving a dreamlike quality to it. They kiss, caress, and otherwise play with each other on a couch while an artist crouches a few feet away from them both drawing April over and over on large sheets of paper. This scene is very long. Very very long. It was more enjoyable before I realized I couldn’t hear anything going on in the scene, only the music which seemed to repeat itself and got kind of annoying after a while.

Midway through the scene the women are suddenly wearing different outfits and the lighting changes, most notibly making April’s hair a fire red and impossible to look away from as opposed to the pink-red the soft-focus had given to it. We actually later see them put on these new outfits near the very end of the scene. This is kind of confusing, but adds to the dreamlike feel of the scene.

I wasn’t too impressed with the scene as a whole, but every time April Flores looks at the camera I just melt.

Throughout the film there are multiple interludes which feature April’s “crew” The Glamazons, a group of extremely talented pole dancers who give a good break from the fucking but don’t let the sexual arousal drop. I was seriously in awe of the positions and tricks these women could do.

In the next scene we first see April and another woman walking down a hallway naked. It then cuts to April and the woman ripping apart the stockings April is now wearing, first sitting and then while crawling up a set of stairs. While they crawl we can see a man in a ski mask on the landing above them. Once we get to the upper landing April is blindfolded and squatting with her ripped hose on while the man in the background starts jerking off behind her, presumably getting ready to fuck her. Then the scene is cut away never to be returned to again. I don’t understand.

Now we see April playing with a Barbie doll. In case we are too sex stupid at this point to understand the metaphor symbolized by this we are given a title for the scene: April vs. Doll that symbolizes unrealistic ideas of beauty. She rips the head off the doll then proceeds to rub her clit with the Barbie’s feet and only slightly insert it into herself (which I was thankful for, I kept thinking that those pointy permanently-heeled feet would be pointy and uncomfortable!) before she pulls out a jelly dildo to fuck herself with. I was saddened by this, but managed to mostly ignore the use of a toxic toy and enjoy the scene.

After another interlude of more pole dancing we get to the only scene not featuring April: Girl with Black Hair. We see Ruby Violence again but, this time, in a solo scene in the same location as the first scene with her and April. The lighting is strange, polarized kind of? And like the other scenes we cannot hear her as she plays with herself, which is extremely disappointing. Ruby looks kind of bored during the scene, and that made me get bored with it as well.

Another pole dancing scene this time dancing for April in some strange lighting interspersed with a regular routine. Probably my favorite of the pole dancing scenes. Then we are back with April in a hotel room where she is trying on shoes and getting dressed. She talks directly to the camera and is incredibly adorable and sexy. She starts naked puts on each piece of clothing deliberately like a reverse strip-tease, and ends up putting on two different outfits by the time the scene is over.

There is some more pole dancing in the middle of the scene, breaking it up a little bit between the outfits, and then we get to watch April to use a rabbit vibe on herself. This is the first time in the movie we can actually hear moaning and coming! It is extremely sexy and very welcome. This and the next scene are, without a doubt, my two favorite scenes.

Now that April is dressed it’s time for her to be fucked, of course. Some of the cutting in this is strange, we see a lot of different things going on, some of which don’t make sense. There are basically two scenes that go on, one all in green and the other in black and white. In green we see images of April in bondage with another woman, then April out of bondage while the other woman still is, then the other woman being fucked. The green is somewhat distracting and just odd.

In black and white we see Jerry snapping Polaroids of April (I don’t think I’ve seen old school Polaroid pictures in ages!) before fucking her in a few different positions. Unfortunately, though, music again dominates any other sounds in the scene until the very end of it, the last minute or so, right before Jerry pulls out to give us the money shot.

The single “behind the scenes” feature is at the very end of the film after the credits (it’s also an option on the DVD menu). We get to see April getting molded for her Voluptuous CyberSkin® Pussy!

While I loved April in the film there were just too many technical issues which bothered me. There was no moaning or any other sex sounds in the majority of the film, instead music was overlayed. This is probably because a lot of the scenes either were made up of lots of different cuts and some (the first one specifically) weren’t really shown in order. While I could appreciate the artistic visual stimulation I wanted to hear some fucking.

Overall this film solidified two things in me. One: I love April Flores. Two: artistic porn is just not my cup o’ tea.

Game Review: Truth or Dare- A Game of Passion

Although I am a fan of cheesyness in general I’m not big on cheesy adult games, and I’d never seen any done intelligently, so when I first found out that I was getting Truth or Dare: A Game of Passion from Good Vibrations to review I was far from enthused. I thought I would look at it a few times for review purposes and then toss it into a box and forget about it.

While I can’t say for sure if I am going to be using it over and over again I do think it is one of the best and most intelligently thought out adult card games I have ever seen. I have a couple adult games that were given to me as gifts over the years which are extremely basic and cheesy asking questions that sounded like they were written by a giggling teenager who thought it was really funny to say “sex.” This ended up making the games not very fun to play.

Truth or Dare: A Game of Passion is different, however. It is gender-neutral so people of all genders can play easily, though it does use terms like “opposite sex” and does not leave room for the possibility of multiple partners, but those are just about the extent of my problems with it.

The questions encourage thought about sexuality and sexual desires as well as bonding between partners and exploration of the current relationship. It doesn’t leave room for basic one-word answers, the questions are often long and in-depth to evoke in-depth answers.

The dares incorporate some of the classic dares such as prank phone calls (with sex-related twists), role playing, exposing yourself, and so on. They are often cliche but set out in a manner that actually makes them new and fun to do. The cards themselves range from innocent to kinky but I haven’t yet read one that I thought was overly stupid or unintelligent. Some examples:

Truths

If you were the teacher of a sex-ed class, what would be the one lesson you would teach your students that no one ever taught you?
If you and your partner were to shed your clothes this very instant and use your discarded clothing as impromptu bondage material, which one of you would get tied up, and which one of you would be in charge? Describe, step-by-step, which items of clothing you would select and how they would be used.
Do your best to articulate the difference in feeling between a climax achieved orally and a climax achieved during intercourse. Which do you prefer?
What is your partner’s most amazing sexual skill? While your partner parobably already knows how much you enjoy that particular skill, take the time to go into details, describing the last time he or she used that skill, from start to finish, and what exactly you loved about it.

Dares

After selecting a racy adult movie or Internet clip, play a random segment on the TV or computer with the sound down. While the movie plays, create your own sound effects and impromptu dialogue, playing all the characters. You can have your partner join in on the fun for additional character voices.
This isn’t the hot potato you remember from childhood! Turn your television on and switch to a channel that is broadcasting a commercial. As the commercials play, toss a sex toy back and forth between you and your partner. When the commercials end and the station’s programming begins, the person holding the sex toy must use it on themselves until the station breaks for another commercial. Your partner may aid you in this task.
Go to the kitchen and fetch an object (such as a whisk, rubber spatula, or pastry brush) to be paddled or flogged with. Bend over, drop your pants or lift your skirt, and let your partner take at least five swats. You might find this dare gives a whole new meaning to the joy of cooking!

As you can see above the suggestions range from goofy to sexy to kinky and back again, and while they are cheesy they are also extremely detailed and thoughtful. Choosing a card or two at random would be a great way to spice up any night of the week, or set aside a night to play multiple rounds, that is if you can get back to the game after performing some of the tasks.

This would be perfect for someone who wants to become more intimate with their partner(s) in a fun and interesting way, or the perfect gift for someone for a number of occasions from anniversary to bachelor(ette) party to birthday or holiday depending on how well you know the person. It’s informative, intelligent, entertaining, and, best of all, designed to actually enhance intimacy between players.

Porn Review: Tristan Taormino’s Rough Sex

Chemistry is, of course, the watchword, especially considering it comes from the director of the series of the same name it’s no surprise that every scene in Tristan Taormino’s Rough Sex is full of it. Full of chemistry, that is. It’s also no wonder considering the female stars were asked to choose their male counterparts, which means they’re only working with people they want to work with, and which also means the scenes are capitol H-O-T.

Every scene starts with each of the two actors in the scene to come talking about what they like when it comes to rough sex, what turns them on, what they desire. The first four scenes are all roleplay scenarios set up by the women, the last is more of a flying by the seat of your pants situation where they just go with whatever happens in the moment.

While I didn’t care for every scene the five together give a well-rounded idea of different types of rough sex and different ways couples can play with power. Three of the five are male top/female bottom situations, one is a female top/male bottom, and in the last they both switch back and forth. I really loved the variety shown throughout the scenes and because everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves even the scenes I didn’t care for due to personal reasons I thought were extremely well done.

There is also an extra “Erotic Choking and Safety with Penny Flame” which teaches the basic safety of how to choke someone or how to be choked in an erotic fashion (as one may assume from the name). I thought it was an excellent addition to the DVD especially since there is a lot of choking that takes place during the movie. The “Safer Sex Feature” gives great safer sex tips and info on when using barriers is okay. Basically it was sort of a PSA, probably at least partially included because the performers in the scenes did not use protection.

My two favorite scenes are ones I will watch again and again, and I think the DVD is worth it just for those (for me). The other plus of having different types of scenes is that since not everyone is going to enjoy the same scene or scenes there may just be something for everyone. I’m extremely picky with my porn, especially straight porn, it has to be just right for me to really get into it, and two out of five ain’t bad.

Scene-by-scene

After we learn a little about Adrianna Nicole and Marco Banderas we watch Adrianna shower before Marco sneaks up from behind her and captures her, slapping her around and choking her. While the two worked well together I had a difficult time getting into the scene because I didn’t find either of them very attractive and they both kept making faces which turned me off, especially him. Every time their actions brought me into the mood their faces brought me out of it.

Satine Phoenix and Derrick Pierce are both a little more my style in general. Satine is stranded with car troubles and Derrick drives up, lets her use his cell phone, then decides to keep her company for the three hours until the tow truck comes. They start with flirting and (I believe) ad-libbed dialogue, showing each other their tattoos until Derrick propositions her for a kiss. One thing leads to another and soon he’s grabbing her hair and smacking her around.

Their chemistry together is amazing and his style of dominance is pretty much exactly what I desire so this scene really got me going. I was hanging on every slap and every dirty word wondering what would come next. It was phenomenal, and I don’t use that word lightly.

The action in the scene is pretty intense in general, and one of the hottest moments is while he’s fucking her on the hood of her jeep: he reaches down and ends up breaking her necklace off of her, beads fly and roll down her body and he just continues on. There is a lot of grabbing, gripping, and slapping, a rough blow job and generally rough fucking, and more than once Satine looks like she is in real pain, but also looks like she is enjoying it. I absolutely loved this entire scene.

Francesca Le is a housewife who is constantly ignored and Christian is the powerful business man who “gets what’s coming to him.” We watch her strip from her housewife drag into a black and white corsetted ensamble while he’s on the phone being toppy with his assistant. I think I liked the build-up better than the actual scene, though, possibly because of the anticipation of what was coming and because she wasn’t talking.

I really liked him, but she was a little too annoying for me to actually get in to. There were some things she did which I really enjoyed, some of the chastising she did of him and her language use, but when she punished him for making her come I was thoroughly confused. Her style of domination, as well, just didn’t jive with me as well as her attitude. He was adorable, however, and I actually wish I had seen more of his reactions but most of the time his face wasn’t able to be seen very well.

Although I liked them both in the interviews I was disappointed with the scene in general. Julius Ceazher is supposed to accuse Marie Luv of cheating, basically she wants a grudge fuck or make-up sex for her scinario. I wasn’t too impressed with their dialogue, though I was willing to forgive it because it was ad-libbed, but then I didn’t think the scene itself was that exciting. The final scene is definitely tied for my favorite in the bunch. It also starts out a little slow, after we hear Sasha Grey and Danny Wylde talking about their rough sex desires in their interviews we watch them play pool while conversing on the subject of rough sex. They talk about what they do and don’t like and Sasha outlines her two limits for Danny before they get to it: no slapping her tits, and no fingering.

Personally, I would get the DVD for the second and last scenes alone, that’s how much I love both of them. I think everyone who likes rough sex would be able to find something they like within the five scenes, even if they aren’t the ones I did.

Hard Love & How to Fuck in High Heels is a two-for-the-price-of-one DVD from Jackie Strano and Shar Rednour by their production company S.I.R. Video Productions. It was the 2001 AVN Winner of Best All-Girl Feature and is a DVD I’ve been lusting after for almost that long.

I remember walking into the Babeland here in Seattle many many years ago and seeing a display of queer porn including this DVD and one of their other productions Sugar High Glitter City (review coming soon). Immediately I was drawn to it, a budding femme at the time, and I longed to buy it but I was broke at the time. It’s been on my mind many times since that day so long ago, but I never got around to picking it up, until now.

I’ve only recently become aware of the many wonderful porn companies out there who are, as S.I.R. Video proudly proclaims, “100% dyke produced.” My other two porn reviews are of similarly queer productions and I enjoyed them immensely.

Shar Rednour wrote the book on femme (quite literally in fact–she wrote The Femme’s Guide to the Universe) so I knew these movies would be full of butch/femme goodness, and I was not disappointed. Both films were very much butch/femme based, and How to Fuck in High Heels shows us femme in a way that’s unusual to see (but not unusual to happen): Shar Rednour is the ultimate femme top.

In both Hard Love and How to Fuck in High Heels all the dildos are made by Vixen Creations, and when we watched it Marla and I were trying to figure out which toy was which. Scene-by-scene

We start with Jaz and Talia, going right into the fucking, no back story, no information except for these two black-clad people fucking on a gorgeous wooden kitchen island. The chemistry between the two is unmistakable, which is what I really go for in any porno. If the chemistry is good then the scenes are worth watching.

The scene cuts to Renee and Devon coming in to Renee’s apartment, after lamenting having no time to do anything because she needs to pack Devon talks Renee into doing a strip-tease for him. It’s very cute and very cheesy, and when Marla and I watched it together we were amused at the cheesyness and how much the dialogue sounded like a conversation we would have. While a lot of the shots are acceptable, the extreme close-ups were not appealing, they were just too close and not really sexy at all. The other shots that really irked us while watching were the two above. Separately they would be fine, but they switched between those two views as if they were the same scene and Renee wasn’t in a radically different position in each of them. I realize the reason for this, to give a better shot of the big black Vixen Creations cock, but it was still irritating to watch. However, it didn’t take away too much from the movie as a whole, but it was enough to mention.

They strip each other while laying in to it with a mix of passion and remorse for the relationship they once had, it’s pretty emotional which I found surprising to find in a porno. There is some gloveless fingering, the only we see in either of the movies, and before long Renee is scooting back to the edge of the bed.

Review: Domenico Pasties – Leopard/Gold Hearts

I think pasties are extraordinarily fun and sexy and that combined with my leopard print addiction made me try out these Domenico Heart Pasties in leopard and gold. I have been fascinated with spreader bars for quite some time and even had the luck to review one a couple of months ago and ever since I’ve been wanting to try more. Just as not all sex toys are created equal not all BDSM products are created equal so I love to try as many variations of similar products as possible when I like the design or idea of a toy.

The idea of being bound to a spreader bar, being helpless and unable to close my legs or keep my cunt and ass from being teased and played with (or doing the same to someone else) is highly appealing and arousing. Because I’m a larger woman with quite a bit of thigh on me, however, it was somewhat easy to keep my thighs together and not be as exposed when using the other spreader bar, and the same thing happened with this one when used around my ankles. I’ve heard this complaint from a number of people, and I have a solution to it below.

We tried it first with the Axovus ankle cuffs connected to either side of the bar which was definitely sexy and made it difficult to move around too much but wasn’t as exposing or immobilizing as I had always imagined a spreader bar would be. Because of the way the cuffs attached to the spreader bar, with carabiner snap hooks, I could close my feet together closer than the 36 inches the bar itself is.
